How to care for ceilings? Simple rules
Customers usually ask this question when buying or installing a stretch ceiling in their home. Of course, stretch ceiling fabric does not require special care due to the fact that it is made of PVC, but for longer usage of this ceiling, we have provided explanations in this post about the simple rules of how to take care of the ceiling.
How to wash a stretch ceiling?
Elastic ceiling fabric has properties that do not absorb dust.
As a result it doesn’t need regular cleaning such as a window or floor.
But if you are unable to prevent accidental pollution, don’t worry and follow the rules listed below to take care of the ceilings:
- Do not use solvents, acetone or chlorinated substances.
- Use a damp cloth with a windshield wiper to clean the ceiling.
Glossy textured ceilings, such as lacquered stretch ceilings, can be cleaned using an alcoholic solution.
- If your stretch ceiling has a seam, the fabric should move completely along it.
Wipe off any remaining soap solution and wipe the ceiling again with a dry cloth.
Stretch ceiling lighting
If you need to replace an incandescent light bulb:
Don’t touch the substructure and the base of the lamp, lest it cause the ceiling to rupture and collapse.
Don’t forget that the voltage consumption of halogen lamps should not be more than 35 watts and for ordinary incandescent lamps, more than 60 watts. The heat generated by the lamp may damage the stretch ceiling fabric.
How to prevent damage to the stretch ceiling?
Don’t throw knives or sharp objects at the elastic ceiling.
Although stretch ceiling fabric is resistant to mechanical shocks, it is quite vulnerable to sharp objects.
Try to avoid direct contact with the base and ceiling.
Avoid cooling the room below 5 degrees as the fabric may crack.
If you accidentally tear the ceiling, contact the Maz3d. In most cases, it is possible to repair the ceiling.
If water settles or drips from the main ceiling (broken pipe in the ceiling):
Don’t panic, because the stretch ceiling is able to withstand 100 liters of water per 1 square meter. If this happens, contact Maz3d Company. Our experts will help you drain the water and restore the stretch ceiling to its original appearance. Never drain the water yourself, even if it is small, as this will void the warranty.
Maz3d guarantees that by following these simple rules, you will be able to easily take care of stretch ceilings.
